Malaysia's Best Esports Betting
Malaysia is one of Southeast Asia's biggest esports powerhouses. At Monkey88, you can put your in-depth knowledge of MLBB, DOTA 2, Valorant, CS2, and more to work – with competitive odds, live betting throughout the match, and deposits as easy as Touch 'n Go.
If you're an esports fan in Malaysia, you already know how big this industry has grown here. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is more than just a game — it's a culture. Every week, thousands of Malaysian fans follow MPL MY matches, catch streams on YouTube and Twitch, and debate which team is the strongest in the local league. Now, with Monkey88, your deep knowledge of esports can become a real edge when placing bets.
Unlike conventional sports betting where a general knowledge of football is enough, e-sports betting demands a more specific understanding — of the current game meta, team roster strength, head-to-head records, and even the playstyles of individual players. This is what gives Malaysian players who genuinely follow the local e-sports scene a significant edge over casual bettors who rely purely on gut feel.
Monkey88 offers a complete esports betting platform – from pre-tournament markets all the way to live betting during active matches. With odds updated every few seconds and a wide range of bet types, every Malaysian esports fan can turn their knowledge into real betting value.

Read Full Privacy Policy →One of the things that sets a great e-sports betting platform apart from an average one is the range of betting options available. Monkey88 offers a wide variety of bet types for each e-sports title — not just match winners, but specific in-match details that can offer better odds value to knowledgeable bettors.
The most straightforward bet type — simply pick which team will win the overall match. For BO3 (best of 3) or BO5 formats, this means the team that wins the majority of games. It is the best starting point for beginners new to e-sports betting at Monkey88, as it is easy to understand and requires no in-depth technical knowledge.
This is a more specific bet type — wagering on the winner of Map 1, Map 2, or a particular game within a series. In a CS2 BO3 match, for instance, you can bet on Team A winning Map 1 even if you think Team B will take the overall match. This opens up more attractive odds when you have in-depth knowledge of a team's strengths on specific maps.
When one team is clearly the stronger side, the straight-win odds for them may be too low to be worth betting on (e.g., 1.15). Handicap betting gives the weaker team a virtual advantage — for example, a "-1.5 map" handicap on the favourite means they must win 2-0 for your bet to pay out. This produces higher, more attractive odds for bettors who are confident in a team's dominance.
This is the feature most hardcore esports fans on Monkey88 love. Live betting lets you place bets while a match is in progress — with odds that shift every second as the game unfolds. Picture yourself watching an MLBB match and seeing your team dominate the early game with a triple kill in the bot lane — you can jump straight into Monkey88 and place a bet to capitalise on that moment before the opposing team recovers. This is where deep game knowledge truly separates casual bettors from consistent winners.
Monkey88 also offers prop bets for marquee matches — such as which player earns MVP, the total kill count in an MLBB game, or whether a CS2 match will go to overtime. These bet types generally carry higher odds since they are harder to predict, but for players who closely follow the e-sports scene, they can be a rewarding source of winnings.

Strategies used by experienced e-sports bettors at Monkey88
Patch updates in MLBB, DOTA 2, and Valorant can dramatically shift the game's landscape. Heroes or agents that dominated in a previous patch may have been nerfed. Teams that adapt quickly to the new meta tend to perform better in tournaments. Always check the patch notes before placing your bets.
In esports, roster changes — adding or dropping players — can have a significant impact on a team's performance. A team that has just swapped out their main carry or support may need time for the new chemistry to develop. This is valuable information that casual bettors often overlook.
Before betting on any major match, take the time to watch recent VODs from both teams. Pay attention to their playstyle, draft strategy (for MLBB/DOTA 2), and how they handle high-pressure situations. This gives you a far more accurate picture than simply looking at win-loss statistics.
Live betting in esports works best when you are watching the match in real time. Pay attention to momentum – if Team A falls behind early but has better economy and Team B is starting to tilt, the odds for Team A may still offer value. Act quickly, but always from a foundation of clear analysis.
In CS2 and Valorant, every team typically has their preferred maps and maps where they are vulnerable. Check each team's map win-rate statistics before betting on a specific Map winner. A team that is strong on the chosen map holds a clear advantage even when the overall skill levels are closely matched.
In the final stages of a season or during major tournaments, teams playing back-to-back matches can experience both physical and mental fatigue. This often affects their performance, especially in longer series — yet fatigue is a factor that most platforms rarely account for when setting their odds.
No conversation about esports in Malaysia is complete without mentioning Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. MLBB is far more than a mobile game here — it's a full competitive sport with a professional league (MPL MY), a passionate fanbase that fills stadiums for finals, and an active online community that debates drafts, meta, and player performance every single day.
Monkey88 recognises the importance of MLBB in the Malaysian market and provides the most comprehensive coverage for this title. All MPL MY matches are available for betting — from the regular season through to the playoffs and grand final. For international tournaments such as MSC (MLBB Southeast Asia Cup) and the M-Series World Championship, Monkey88 opens pre-tournament odds well in advance so you have ample time to analyse before placing your bets.
For players who follow MLBB closely, live betting on MPL MY matches is an incredibly rewarding experience. Picture yourself watching Evos vs Alter Ego — Game 3 is underway, Turtles are tied 3-3, and Evos just secured a double kill in the mid lane with all ultimates still available. Monkey88 shows continuously shifting live odds — and your understanding of that situation gives you information that may not yet be fully reflected in the current odds. That's a genuine edge for hardcore Malaysian MLBB fans.
While MLBB dominates the mobile scene, the Malaysian PC gaming community following DOTA 2 and CS2 is equally active. Monkey88 provides full coverage for both titles – including regional leagues, qualifier matches, and flagship tournaments such as The International for DOTA 2, and the Major and ESL Pro League for CS2.
DOTA 2 betting is uniquely different from other titles due to the nature of the game itself — a single teamfight can completely flip a match even when one side holds a commanding gold and experience lead. This makes live betting on DOTA 2 at Monkey88 particularly exciting, as odds can shift dramatically within minutes. Players who understand concepts like "net worth advantage" and "comeback mechanics" in DOTA 2 have a clear edge when making live bet decisions.
Getting started with esports betting on Monkey88 is straightforward — deposits can be made using Malaysia's most popular local payment methods. Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, and DuitNow QR are the fastest options, with funds arriving within seconds. FPX via Maybank2u, CIMB Clicks, Public Bank Online, or RHB Now is also available with a processing time of 5–15 minutes. The minimum deposit is RM20 and Monkey88 charges no deposit fees.
Winnings are processed quickly — e-wallet withdrawals typically complete within 15–30 minutes, while direct bank transfers take 1–4 hours. The minimum withdrawal is RM50 and Monkey88 charges no withdrawal fees.

For major tournaments like The International or M-Series, Monkey88 opens pre-tournament (futures) odds well in advance. These odds are typically more favorable than those on individual matches. If you are confident in a particular team after analyzing their squad, placing an early bet on overall tournament odds can offer far better value than waiting to bet on each match separately.
Since e-sports matches can take place almost daily across multiple simultaneous events, there is a real risk of over-betting if you are not careful. Monkey88 encourages you to set a daily betting limit and never wager more than you can afford to lose. Use the deposit limit feature in your account settings for better control.

The Welcome Bonus of up to RM388 offered by Monkey88 to new members can be used for esports betting. This means you can kick off your esports betting experience with nearly double the capital — giving you more room to explore different bet types without taking on too much risk right from the start.
A smart strategy for using bonuses on e-sports is to start with smaller bets (RM5–RM10 per bet) on matches you are genuinely confident about and have solid knowledge of. This lets you spread your bonus across more matches while naturally working through the rollover requirement through your regular betting activity. With Monkey88's 20x rollover requirement — among the most competitive in the industry — it is achievable within a reasonable timeframe without needing to place reckless wagers.
Beyond the Welcome Bonus, Monkey88 regularly offers promotions specific to e-sports betting during major tournaments. Keep an eye on the Monkey88 promotions page during MPL MY season, The International, or Valorant Champions — there are usually enhanced odds, bet refunds, or free bets tied to those events.
